Five on Five Project for May {Family photographer, videographer | Lithia, FL}

April was crazy. Downright a handful. May isn't looking like a clear calendar either. Between the kid's school and baseball schedule, my work schedule and just life, we are jonesing for any downtime we can get. Mornings are usually a slow time in the house. The kids get to watch PBS kids while I slowly sip my coffee and catch up on emails (I mean Facebook). Once we start our day though, the TV goes off. It's school time, outside time, work, all of the above. Sometimes the news comes on at dinner time, and every once in awhile, IF the kids get clean early enough they can get a little down time and watch some mindless TV. Zoning out can be good for all of us sometimes!

I love this series because it is simple. It's the same subject shown five different ways. As photographers sometimes we see a scene as boring if there is no action going on, BUT the simplicity of the quiet moment can be really beautiful.

So on this evening, my kids got to watch Toy Story 3 for the 1125th time in a row and just chill out.

Want those quiet moments photographed too? I am HERE for you boo!

Are we living identical lives? We wake up, PBS kids, breakfast, mom wakes up and drink her magical dark juice that makes her not so angry, and then out the door.

We do have a movie after lunch to try to convince the boys to rest a little. But that is it.

Love these images and how intently he's watching the movie.

I love the simplicity of this idea!! And how interesting each image is, even though it's the same scene and the kids haven't moved (zombies!!). We definitely watch more TV in the colder months, but when the days start getting warmer, screen time disappears except for a few hours on the weekend. Is Toy Story 3 their favourite?? My kids love the first Toy Story the best!! I find quiet time by getting up earlier than my kids and going to bed later than them. Currently, that's about it! If the kids are awake, the only way I get quiet time is to plunk them in front of the TV, OR, send them outside to the trampoline in the summer (although that's not guaranteed to be quiet!!)
