Five on Five Project for March {Family photographer, videographer | Lithia, FL}

Yup, you guessed it, another project. Us creatives like to always have many irons in the fire. We just can't help it, our minds are always spinning in a hundred directions. This project I am sharing with a few friends and we are sharing our FIVE fav images from the last month.

Since I just took a trip to DC, I thought I would share my images from my trip! I was enthralled with row housing painted in great colors with amazing architecture, the English basement we stayed in for our Airbnb and of course Public Transportation. I am from Florida, while we might have a few colorful neighborhoods left, it is a place with no basements and basically, zero mass transit. Riding the train was high on the anxiety list for both my hubby and I (yes it was a parent only get away), but we mastered it like a boss in no time flat.

I worked the majority of the time I was there filming a brand film for the lovely and talented Yaffa Koff Photography. Yaffa is a "first-year photographer" meaning she photographs babies through their first year of life and specializes in newborns. Her work blows me away and her hand-painted backdrops are to die for! I loved spending my days in her studio but I did sneak out at night to soak in a little of the lights down on the national mall. While I didn't get to wander too much, the hubby and I did get three whole days away from the kids so it was a total win!

So now I want to plan a trip to go back, once the kids are a little older and will appreciate things a little better. City life always draws me in and I think how awesome it would be to live it every day until I get home and remember how much the grass beneath my feet keeps me grounded.

Kelly!! These street shots are amazing. I went to DC last year to photograph a few families and I literally wrote down directions to all their houses via subway... it was such a trip for me to leave the train station and walk a few blocks, passing a "welcome to Maryland" sign to get to their home. Can't wait to see the brand film you created for your fellow photog, and glad you had a little time for a kid-free vacay!

I would love to go to DC someday! Especially for street work. These are great photos. It inspires me to get back into street photography.

DC is amazing. I've been there several times and want to get back there, but this time, on my own. I find so much freedom in photography when I don't have anyone else tagging along, adults included. The city draws you in with it's immense amount of people, beautiful architecture, museums, and beauty. You gave a great taste for what DC has to offer!
