When I first met this mom at the Children's Expo back in October, I thought wow I want to photograph her and her family. Besides the fact that her and her son are beautiful (yes boys are beautiful), I could tell she got me. It might seem silly, but I love nothing more than to connect with my clients. I want us to be friends, I wanna chat the whole session, just hang out like we are old friends. That is exactly how this session went.
When I first asked her how she envisioned her session, what story she wanted to tell this was her response
"I really just want to capture this moment to have forever! I want my son to look back and remember mommy's big belly and him having to help me all the time, lol, he really is a big help... if it's picking something up off the ground for me or helping me put my shoes on. I love when he is touching my belly or laying his little head on it... it just reminds me how awesome he is going to be as a big brother and I want him and the new baby to see how much he loved the baby before he ever met him/her so when we can look back years from now when they drive each other nuts I will have proof lol"
We talked about places they spend a lot of time together and how they spend that time outside of school and the must todo things. Her son is a major lego guy, but even more than that he loves playing, I mean who doesn't? So we set off to one of their favorite locations to just hangout.
Edward Medard park located just east of Tampa is an awesome location for a fun time. It has a diverse landscape, including the lake plus these awesome sand dunes and tree roots. It's a child paradise!
We also wanted to capture some more portrait type images and wanted to showcase this gorgeous dream catcher she was finishing up for the baby's room. After changing clothes I got some images of just momma and upcoming baby.
I loved being able to preserve this story before the next chapter. When I asked the question what will be most missed about this time in her life she replied
"I will miss it just being the 2 of us! My little guy is my best friend we talk, play and just get up and go anytime we want now I feel like things will need more planning. It's going to be hard to do somethings that we do now with a little one..."
As we all know life ebbs and flows, new babies come and life evolves. Life is always moving forward, on to new adventures, new laughs, new tears, new joys. Having these moments, the ones right now preserved on paper allows us to reminisce on these times. Pictures are like a song, telling a story, transporting you into the past.
